Early yesterday, my team and I visited a living legend Chief Ige Adeniji Oluwo, a man who gave his all to Scouting in Nigeria and beyond.
Born in 1945, Oluwo joined the 9th Lagos Troop in 1955 at St. Peter’s School, Faji, Lagos.
He rose to become Troop Leader (1963–1965) and Scoutmaster in 1966. In 2005, he celebrated his 60th birthday with over 50 years already dedicated to Scouting.
Today, though paralyzed, his mind remains sharp and his passion for Scouting is unshaken. His words still inspire, his legacy still speaks.
“Scouting is like a religion it’s about doing good at all times,” he reminded us.
We are bringing his story back to life, because heroes like Oluwo should never be forgotten.
