Breaking News: ECOWAS SCOUT COUNTRIES RETURN RAJI BOMODEOKU ELECTED AS COMMITTEE MEMBER

The West Africa Scout Conference at its 15th session announced the return of Raji Bomodeoku into its Committee serving in the capacity of youth coordinator for the West Africa Zone. The conference currently meeting in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso since 17th of February and attended by countries in the ECOWAS conducted election to fill vacant positions on the committee.
The election which was supervised by the World Scout Bureau, Geneva was monitored by the Bureau staff from the Africa Support Centre in Nairobi. Raji who was first elected in Praia, Cape Verde in February of 2020 has served the committee for five years in youth management capacity.
Raji who is currently not attending conference due to the demise of the Chief Scout of Nigeria, Dr. Olusoga Sofolahan who passed days before the conference has described the conference position as a proof of strong institution.
Speaking after his return, Raji who spoke in Moloney, Ikoyi described his return as a testament to functional institutions not capable of being compromised by any means. He thanked his committee and the west Africa Countries for the opportunity to continue to serve the zone as youth manager. He also thanked the late Chief Scout, Dr Olusoga and the Chief Commissioner, Umar Muhammad for their support.
He added that a lot of work needs to be done to bring the zone up to speed with the changing scouting’s global priorities and promote scouting development in the zone.
