Youth Advisors to the World Scout Committee elected for the 2021-2024 triennium
Delegates of the 14th World Scout Youth Forum have elected six Youth Advisors to the World Scout Committee (WSC) to serve during the 2021-2024 Triennium.
The voting took place on the 19 and 20 August after 18 individuals presented their candidacy for election to the 746 Youth Forum participants representing 163 National Scout Organizations.
The diversity of our Scout Movement was reflected in the candidates who were the among the largest number to ever run for election as Youth Advisors.
The WSC is the “board” of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM).
It is one of three constitutive bodies of WOSM, alongside the World Scout Conference and the World Scout Bureau.
The WSC is responsible for the implementation of the decisions of the World Scout Conference and for acting on its behalf between its meetings. Youth Advisors play a key role in the decision-making of the WSC.
From the 18 candidates put forward by Member Organizations, the following six individuals (listed in alphabetical order) were elected as Youth Advisors to the WSC:
Ms Fatima Aliyeva, Azerbaijan
Ms Yoobinnara Kim, Republic of Korea
Ms Reese Medina, Belize
Mr Alhassan Soltan, Egypt
Mr Maman Lamine Soumana Ide Issa, Niger
Ms Melissa Wilm Senna Pinto, Brazil
In accordance with the World Scout Youth Forum Guidelines, the Youth Advisors’ mandate will start on the closure of the 42nd World Scout Conference and will finish at the closure of the 43rd World Scout Conference in 2024 together with the WSC Members which they serve alongside.
Once Again
