Fellow Brother and Sister Scouts,

It is with honour and pride we announce to us that on Thursday 23rd March, 2023 His Excellency,

The Governor of Taraba State, Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku has approved and crowned TSAN Board Chairman Justice Emmanuel Audu Dodo [Rtd] as The Tii Ichen-Kurmi, His Royal Highness (HRH.) King of

Ichen-Kurmi I of the Ichen-Kurumi Chiefdom.

The coronation and presentation of Staff of Office

took place at the EXCO Chamber Government House by 5:00pm.

Kurmi is a Local Government Area in Taraba State, Nigeria.

As a local government area, it is

administered by a Local Government Council consisting of a chairman, and elected councillors. The

LGA is further divided into wards. Its headquarters are in the town of Ba’Issa. The area lies on the

south border with Cameroon and these areas are richly blessed with fertile soil which grows a

number of cash crops and food crops such as Bananas, Plantains, Rice, Groundnuts, Oranges, Palm

trees, Cocoyam and Cocoa. The area is also endowed with timbers and various natural

resource including precious stones like gemstones, lurch Forestry, Water falls and Mountains. There

are three major ethnic groups of Ndola, Tigun and Ichen including the Tivs and Fulanis.

Let me on behalf of World Organisation of Scout Movement WOSM, Our Patron, Trustees, Other Board

Members, National Executive Committee members and the entire boy/girl Scouts of Nigeria felicitate

with our Board Chairman and to send greetings of peace, unity and goodwill to the family and the

entire Ichen-Kurmi Chiefdom as we rejoice with them for having a worthy and dependable former

Justice like him as their King.

Long may he reign over the Chiefdom as we pray for long life in good health, and that his reign shall

bring unrivalled prosperity to the people of Ichen-Kurmi and Taraba State at large.
