Screening/ Election Proper

The Chairman of the National AGM Planning Committee

Along with members of the planning committee were at the AGM venue @ Oba Akenzua II Int’l scout camp as early as 8am for screening of contestant who could not get screened on the 10th of Sept, 2021.

At the conclusion of the screening exercise, successful contestants names were punished at the notice board.

Two contestants got screened out and the reasons were also published.

The official opening ceremony of the 2021 AGM commenced at about 2pm chaired by the Board Chairperson along with the Chief Commissioner and the National Treasurer.

At the end of that session, the business session was also chaired by the Board Chairperson until after the reports of all relevant office holders were received.

Then a call for dissolution of the board was moved and seconded.

A motion for a new Chairman to continue the business session was moved and seconded. Bld. Balanku Vanokah Chairman of the planning Committee became the chairman of the session to be supported by his Co -Chair; Hon. Emmanuel Eseine.

The business of the day was followed strictly in line with the adopted agenda.

Motion for the nomination of resolution committee and motion for the nomination of Tellers were later moved and seconded.

The presentation of contestant and election proper followed.

At the end, 12 successful candidates who were returned elected into the New Scout Board reaffirm their scout promise and immediately went into the conclave for their first Board Meeting.

They made a majestic emegance after about 15 minutes to inform the General Assembly of the New Chairperson of the National Scout Board, the person of Hon. Justice Emmanuel Dodo from Taraba state and the Deputy Board Chairperson as Dr. O. George from Delta State.

Their acceptance speeches were made to the General Assembly after which a second visit to the conclave for the second board meeting took place.

On their return, the. General Assembly were told the new Chief Commissioner and National Treasurer of the Scout Association for the next 3 years.

Hon. Dave Awunah from Benue State emerged as the new Chief Commissioner while Dr. Mrs. Oyemesi from Oyo State became the New National Treasurer of the Association.

They made their various acceptance speeches after which the Chief Commissioner and CEO approached the Board for permission to present Awards to deserving scouters for their selfless services to the association over the years.

The hosting right for the 2022 Youth Forum and the National AGM goes to Oyo State

The National AGM was brought to a close with a closing prayer at about 3am.
