OGUN STATE SCOUT COUNCIL VISITS COMMISSIONER OF POLICE, OGUN STATE COMMAND
Early yesterday, the Ogun State Scout Council paid a courtesy visit to the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, Lanre Ogunlowo, PhD, accompanied by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), CSP Omolola Odutola.
Purpose of the Visit
The visit aimed to establish a strong relationship between the Ogun State Scout Council and the Ogun State Police Command, ensuring the Scouts’ active involvement in the Command’s activities. The delegation introduced the Commissioner to the Scouting Movement, highlighting its aims, objectives, core values, and its commitment to fostering discipline and good citizenship among young people.
Furthermore, the delegation requested the continuous support of the Police Command under his leadership, specifically asking for the Police Command Band to train Scouts in parade and band activities. The Council also expressed its desire for the Commissioner to become a member of the Ogun State Scout Council.
This engagement will continue at the provincial and local association levels to strengthen grassroots Scouting. The Ogun State Scout Council reaffirmed its commitment to working with police divisions across the state to create a safer society.
Support from the Commissioner of Police
The Commissioner acknowledged the visit and assured the Scout Council of his support within his capacity. He expressed interest in Scouting and promised to assist in achieving its aims and objectives, aligned with the core value of doing a good turn every day.
Additionally, he pledged his support for the Council by committing to attend the upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM) on the 18th of this month. He encouraged the Scouts to continue promoting the values of Scouting, adhering to the Scout Law and Promise, and contributing to community development. He also assured that the Police Command would provide assistance to young Scouts where necessary.
