INVITATION FOR NSOs TO NOMINATE YOUNG PEOPLE TO ATTEND THE GLOBAL YOUTH SUMMIT
Invitation for NSOs to nominate young people to attend the Global Youth Summit
Dear friends,
We are pleased to offer further guidance on the nomination process for participants who will represent Scouting at the upcoming Global Youth Summit Register for Global Youth Summit to be held from 23 to 25 April 2021.
This exciting virtual event will be an opportunity for young people, leaders, policymakers, global brands and changemakers to come together to discuss how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted young people in the areas of education, health and well-being, work and employment, and inclusion and inequality.
The Global Youth Summit programme will feature three main plenary sessions and over 70 interactive breakout sessions offered in different languages (English, French, Spanish, Arabic and Russian) across time zones. In addition to inspiring keynote speakers and hands-on learning and professional development opportunities for participants, the Global Youth Summit will also launch a call for young people to apply for funding to support local and innovative COVID-19 response and recovery solutions.
Following guidance provided in Circular 13/2021, we are pleased to invite National Scout Organizations (NSOs) to nominate two representatives between the ages of 14 and 30 for consideration to attend and participate in the Summit. We encourage NSOs and Regions to nominate young people from diverse backgrounds who are able to communicate in at least one of the five languages the event will be offered in: English, French, Spanish, Arabic or Russian.
All nominations should be submitted through this online form no later than 11 April 2021.Online Form
Regions will be invited to select and approve participants to join the event, after which approved nominees will be contacted and registered to attend the event.
A total delegation of 100 registered participants will represent Scouting at the Summit.
While not all nominated participants will be selected as registered participants, all young people are welcome to join the event through the live broadcasts.
