I-TREE INTERNATIONAL PREPARATORY SCHOOL ORGANIZED TEDDY BEAR WEEK 2023 EDITION

TEDDY BEAR WEEK 2023 EDITION

Teddy Bear Week celebration that was concluded Friday, June 9, at I-Tree International School, Ilorin, was a huge success as the Early Years learners enjoyed a fun-filled week of activities alongside their regular learning. The week-long event held once every session was full of age-appropriate, educational and interactive activities that were designed to improve the children’s learning experience while also being enjoyable.

Teachers ensured that all pupils were actively involved.

The children were introduced to Teddy Bear stories, songs, and rhymes, that reinforced their color and descriptive knowledge, helped them to learn new words, boosted their vocabulary, reading, language and communication skills, and improved their comprehension, literacy and numeracy.

They also engaged in role playing activities which helped to improve their listening and speaking and also boosted their emotional and social skills as they learned how to interact with each other while playing with their teddy bears. The teddy bear games were particularly enjoyable and a favorite among the pupils as they had to use their problem-solving skills to win.

The hands-on activities were also a highlight of the week as the children were involved in baking cakes and cookies, collage making and painting their favorite teddies. The activities helped to improve their creativity and imagination while also boosting their numeracy as they had to measure ingredients for baking. The children were also able to express themselves freely through their artwork which improved their fine motor skills.

In an interview with the motherly proprietress and top educator, Mrs Evelyn Balogun, she expressed her delight at the success of the week-long annual event. “The Teddy Bear Week was a great success as it enabled our children to learn and have fun at the same time. The activities were designed to enhance their learning experience and we are happy to see them actively engaged and enjoying themselves.”

The parents of the Early Years Learners were also impressed with the celebration. The mother of one of the learners expressed delight at the improvement in her child’s learning. “My child was excited about the Teddy Bear Week celebration and I am happy to see improvements in her language and social skills. The hands on activities were also a great avenue for her to express herself creatively”, she enthused.

The week-long activities left indelible imprints on the minds of the children, memorable moments for parents, and delight and satisfaction in the teachers of I-Tree International School.

All participants were agreed upon the successful outcome of the Teddy Bear Week, and on its importance as a unique annual tradition of the leading government-approved private school located in the serene environment of Wara Road, within nine-minutes drive of the Ilorin International Airport, Ilorin.

With Teddy Bear Week and other events on the school’s calendar of learning and extracurricular activities, excellent facilities, well-trained teachers, and world-class management, I-Tree International School is undoubtedly well poised to retain its place on the top 5 list of sought-after A-class schools in Kwara State, West Central Nigeria.
