CONGRATULATORY MESSAGE TO OUR MUSLIM UMMA ON THIS YEAR’S EID-EL-KABIR CELEBRATION FROM THE SCOUT ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA.
My Dear Muslim Brothers and Sisters Scout.
On this year’s celebration of Eid-El-Kabir, I wish to congratulate and felicitate with you for a successful Adha observation.
This is a holy celebration that honours the Prophet Ibrahim’s selflessness and willingness to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to Allah’s command.
This year’s festivity seems more gracious because it is happening at a time the whole world is birthing the relief from the ravage of COVID-19 Pandemic, despite the upsurge of the delta variant.
We must bear it in mind that a major part of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)’s Eid was not eating or feasting but praying and thanking Allah for his countless blessings.
We all need to continue to pray for peace and security in Nigeria and safety of all scouts across the globe in this new normal period.
I implore all of us to be safety conscious and observe all guiding rules and regulations of Staying Safe and Staying Alive, as applicable to our various states and zones, especially during training.
As we celebrate this time, let us intensify our prayers to Allah to heal the world and eradicate this virus that is threatening human existence.
And for improved security across the nation.
I wish to reiterate that because of the current pandemic, we must take extra caution to observe the principles of Safe from Harm in addition to observing all Covid-19 safety protocols.
However, the World Organization of the Scout Movement has made it possible for scouting activities to be practiced online via the World Scout Academy portals opened to all scouts.
Serial programs have been introduced to keep our youths and scouts active.
Some of these programs are in conjunction with UNICEF and UNESCO.
Similarly, our Youth Programmes department had brought together scouts across the country through digital platforms for seminars, training, fun games, community advocacy, and scouting development in general to ensure scouting continues to thrive in Nigeria and move on with the rest of the world.
Happily, full-fledged scout training have commenced.
Let me once again wish our Muslim brother and sister Scouts a very happy Eid-El-Kabir ceremony while emphasising our observance of all safety guidelines.
