On the occasion of 50th years anniversary (Golden Jubilee) of Chittagong University Rover Scout Group on November 21, 2023, a special crew meeting and discussion meeting was held at Rover Scout Den.
Golden Jubilee celebrations started at 11:00 am with flag hoisting and crew meeting at Rover Scout Ground and later the discussion meeting was held in the Rover Scout Den.
Rover Scout Leader of Chittagong University Rover Scout Group Under the chairmanship of Professor Dr. Md. Anwarul Islam, Chittagong University Rover Scout Group Editor and Rover Scout Leader Professor Dr. Mohammad Helal Uddin. Rover Scout Leader S M Naim Uddin of Chittagong University Rover Scout Group was present as a special guest. Md. Billal Hossain, Gazi Md. Nazrul Islam, Habibur Rahman and others were present among the former Senior Rover Mates. Besides present Senior Rover Mates Jubayer Hossain and Monami Islam Mumu, all Rover Mates, Assistant Rover Mates and Rovers participated in the event. The event was moderated by Rover Mate Maruf Islam.
Present Senior Rover Mate delivered the welcome address on the occasion. Highlighting the significance and specialness of the event, he expressed his special gratitude to all and appreciated all those who helped in the successful completion of the event.
Later, the Golden Jubilee of Chittagong University Rover Scout Group was inaugurated by cutting the cake. After that, the former senior rovermates gave speeches. They presented various history and different memories of Chittagong University Rover Scout Group to everyone.
In the speech of the chief guest, Professor Dr. Mohammad Helal Uddin highlighted the importance and various successes of Rovering. And by referring to rovers who have received PRS at various times, he encourages everyone to work with the expectation of getting PRS.
In the speech of the president Professor Dr Md. Anwarul Islam highlighted the success of Bangladesh Scouts by highlighting various aspects of roaming. And appreciated the various works of Chittagong University Rover Scout Group and also gave various suggestions to convey the idea of Rover Scout to other students.
He also mentioned that next year, if the situation in the country is good, the Golden Jubilee of Chittagong University Rover Scout Group will be celebrated on a large scale and applauded this event as the beginning of the event. He concluded the program by thanking everyone for organizing such a beautiful program with the help of the current Rovers.
