OYO STATE SCOUT COUNCIL VISITS THE HON. COMMISSIONER OF EDUCATION SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY,

Oyo State Scout Council under the leadership of Rev Moses Olaniran and in the company of The State Counsel President, Prof P. Olamakinde Olapegba, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Admin) University of Ibadan, paid an enlightenment courtesy visit to The Hon Commissioner of Education, Science & Technology, Oyo State recently.
The purpose of the Visit was to reassure the Hon Commissioner of Education that Scouting in the State have not deviated from its purpose of breeding a new crop of personalities and pursuing her assigned duty of assisting the Youths to become self reliant.
This visit became necessary following the dubious involvement of certain persons under the guise of scouting that are using rented thugs under the uniform of Scout to attend the illegal camp organized by the expelled faction of the Dave Awunah led NISPPA which is meant to create discord and give untoward poor impressions of scouting generally.
It will be recalled that at the forefront of that program is the expelled Zack Ekanola who has refused to acknowledge the verdict of the State Scout Council President and has been giving the impression that he is a non conformist.
The Hon Commissioner of Education welcomed the Scout President and his Team promising them that he would not concede to any misrepresentation and misguiding of the Youths in the State and reaffirmed his readiness to ensure that scouting takes roots in all the secondary and educational institutes in the state.
