ONIBUKUN L.A. VISIT TO OTA FIRE SERVICE OGUN STATE

REPORT ON THE VISIT OF THE ONIBUKUN L.A. AWORI PROVINCE SCOUT ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA TO THE OTA FIRE SERVICE IN COMMEMORATION OF BADEN POWELL WEEK

INTRODUCTION

As part of the activities to commemorate Baden Powell Week, the Onibukun L.A. Awori Province Account Association of Nigeria organized a visit to the Ota Fire Service, Ogun State Chapter. This visit aimed to foster collaboration with emergency responders, appreciate their efforts in ensuring public safety, and enhance awareness of fire prevention measures among our members and the community.

OBJECTIVES OF THE VISIT

• To honor and recognize the vital role of firefighters in community safety.

• To educate members on fire prevention techniques and emergency response.

• To strengthen partnerships between the Account Association and public service agencies.

• To promote the values of community service and responsibility in line with Baden Powell’s legacy.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

1. Welcome Address:

• The delegation was warmly received by the Ota Fire Service Command, led by S.F.O Owolabi

• The fire service representatives provided an overview of their duties, challenges, and the importance of fire safety education.

2. Fire Safety Awareness Session:

• A brief lecture was delivered by senior fire officers on fire hazards, prevention strategies, and emergency response protocols.

• Attendees were enlightened on the importance of smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, and evacuation plans in homes and workplaces.

3. Live Demonstration of Firefighting Techniques:

• The firefighters conducted practical demonstrations on how to use fire extinguishers, fire hoses, and other safety equipment.

• Participants were given the opportunity to ask questions and engage in hands-on practice.

4. Presentation of Appreciation Token: a necktie

• In recognition of their selfless service, the Account Association presented a certificate of appreciation/gift to the fire service personnel.

5. Closing Remarks & Group Photographs:

• The visit concluded with remarks from both the fire service and the association, emphasizing continued collaboration on safety awareness programs.

• Group photographs were taken to commemorate the successful event.

CONCLUSION

The visit was a remarkable success, achieving its objectives of promoting fire safety education, community service, and appreciation of emergency responders. We believe this initiative has strengthened the relationship between our association and the Ogun State Fire Service.
