Dear Scouts,

Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year in advance!

Season Greetings from the World Scout Bureau, Africa Region, the National Scout Board and National

Executive Committee of The Scout Association of Nigeria.

December 25th every year is the day most Christians of the world celebrate Christmas to mark the birth of

our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us on the cross of Calvary.

This year’s festivity seems unique because it is happening at a time the whole world is under the ravage

of the second wave and more potent COVID-19 Pandemic.

We implore all of us to be safety conscious and observe all guiding rules of Staying Safe and Staying Alive.

As we celebrate this time, let us intensify our prayers to God Almighty to heal the world and eradicate

this virus that is threatening human existence.

We wish to reiterate that because of the current pandemic, all Scouting activities involving physical

contact remain on hold, and where inevitable must be handled in strict adherence to all Covid-19

protocols pertinent.

However, the World Organization of the Scout Movement has made it possible for

scouting activities to be practiced online through www.scout.org portal.

Serial VIRTUAL programs have

been introduced to keep our youths and scouts active.

Some of these programs are in conjunction with

UNICEF and UNESCO.

We salute and appreciate the endurance, tenacity, and patience of all Scouts in Nigeria in view of all

national, scouting, pandemic and personal challenges we all faced at this point in time, most especially

our strong unwavering brotherhood spirit that has helped us to keep up with our scouting activities over

the years.

As we keep the spirit glowing, we promised to continue to do our best to take us out of this

trying time with high hopes and expectations for a better tomorrow.
