Lagos State Scout Council successfully delivered the Basic Training Courses (Scout) and (Cubs) at LAWNA TERRITORY International Convention Ground, Olorunda, Ketu, Lagos.
The Training Department of the Lagos State Scout Council between 12th – 18th August, 2023 delivered successfully the Middle level training Course for to be Unit leaders in the Scout Association.
Training which is the bedrock of every developing era is mandatory to boost membership drive and human resources.The BTC (Scout) Course recorded an encouraging number of Seventy – three (73) Candidates while the BTC (Cub) recorded a total of Thirty -eight (38) Candidates.
The BTC Scout which was directed by the duos of Pst. S.T Adelabu (LT) and Eld. Damola (LT) and led by Waliu O. Idowu (ALT) and Felix Amadi (ALT) / Monday Monye (ALT), while The BTC Cub which was directed by the duos of Mrs. Veronica Omishile (LT, ADCC) and Prop. Bunmi Ojediran (LT) and led by Mrs. Foluke Oshodi Ashaolu (ALT) and Ogbeni F. Adaranijo (ALT).
The Course also had seasoned trainers cum facilitators from the old wolf rare which included; Israel I.A Esan (LT, DCC), Sobogun N.I (LT, ADCC), John A.O Omodara (LT, ADCC), Ismail O. Afolabi (LT, ADCC), Rev’ A.A Adebayo (LT), Barr. S.A Umar (LT), Akanji Adewale (LT) among others.Prominent among Visiting Tutors who visited during the Training Course were State Scout Commissioner, LSSC; Alh. Olohuntoyin Adebesin whom in his address to the Candidates emphasized the need for capacity building programmes in which the BTC falls under is essential and the effect of such training must reflect in grassroots development across board.
He congratulated the Course faculty for their resilience in creating time to impact the young candidates.
During the Course, the Candidates experienced patrol nights, mandatory expedition, practical troop meetings, court of honour, SET, STA among other elements of the Course.The Course was declared Closed at about 11am by the Course Director; Pst. S.T Adelabu (LT) without casualty on all sides amidst all Candidates and Course Staffs.
