Kwara State Scouters had an interview session with Catholic Bishop of Ilorin Diocese Kwara CAN president
The long awaited day is here today the curtain draws on the stage of history has yet another land mark success was achieved by the Kwara State Scouters.
On 28th of January 2021.
John.k. was privilege to lead the kwara state Scouters to visited the Catholic Bishop of Ilorin diocese, who his also the present kwara state CAN president on an interview session.
The Interview was titled.
“Nigeria at crossroad:
THE role of volunteers and voluntary organizations in maintaining Peace and tranquillity in our Society “
At about 11:00am.
His Lordship Most Rev.Dr. Paul Olawoore
welcomed us warmly into his office and the interview kicked off in earnest.

QUESTION FOR THE INTERVIEW
1)My lord, with the event of the current happening in Nigeria that everyone seems not to know what next to do.
What will be your advice to the youth on the way forward.
2) My lord, considering the rate of ” I owe nobody this, I owe nobody that” which has led us to this level of irresponsibility in our society.
In your opinion what do you think we have missed somewhere that has led us to this state of so retrogression?
3) My lord, it as been observed that with the absorption of voluntary organization like civil defense and peace corp to a paid job as made the organization like scout, man o war, red cross now go for duty because they expected to be paid.
4) My lord, how can peace and tranquility be maintain among the youth with different background and understanding. Using an examples of end sarz protest where we have organized youth protesting peacefully and another set of youth where used to disorganized the protest as hooligans.
5)My lord, often time we shift blame to the government as little has keeping our environment clean and healthy we call on government to do it, this kind of ideology where can it lead too?
The Bishop was gracious enough in his response and so we had a nice time with him.

1. God first in all we do. He emphasized that in most cases we relegate God when we make plans But when it not working we run back to him,mean while God should be part of everything we do has individual and has a nation.
2. Proper Orientation and the need for Education- The Bishop also mentioned the need for proper orientation and positive mind set. Such that we all have a common goal which is a better Nigeria.
3. Humility- The Bishop in his response prioritised the need for humility. Nothing last forever he said therefore anywhere or any office you find yourself should be used to serve God and humanity.
On another note the Bishop who also doubles has the CAN president of Kwara state chapter in his delight said he wouldn’t hesitate to give us note or letter to establish Scouting in every Catholic Church and Schools in the State but first we must be of good conduct and reputable.
Finally, Baba urged us never to be discouraged but to continue to make positive contribution in the state and ensure our impact is felt.
