Celebrating 64 Years of Nigerian Independence!!!

Message from the Chief Scout of Nigeria, Olori Omoba Olusoga Sofolahan

October 1, 2024

Dear Scouts, Leaders, and Friends,

As we celebrate Nigeria’s 64th year of independence, I extend my warmest greetings to every member of the Scout Association of Nigeria. Today, we reflect on our nation’s journey to freedom, growth, and resilience. Our rich history reminds us of the strength that comes from unity, and the responsibility we all share in building a brighter future.

As Scouts, we are called to be role models and agents of positive change in our communities. The values of service, loyalty, and leadership that we uphold are essential in contributing to the progress of our beloved country. Let us continue to inspire the youth, guide the next generation, and take active steps in nation-building, just as our Scout motto encourages us to “Be Prepared.”

Together, we can foster peace, promote unity, and strengthen our nation through service and commitment to the ideals of Scouting.

As we celebrate this significant milestone, I encourage each one of us to reflect on our role in Nigeria’s future. May we remain steadfast in our duty to serve God, our country, and humanity.

Happy Independence Day, Nigeria!

Yours in Scouting,

Olori Omoba Olusoga Sofolahan

Chief Scout of Nigeria
